Der Explorer kommt zurück nach Europa. Die erste Generation des Geländewagens hatte in den 1990ern in Europa nur mäßig Erfolg. In den USA ist der Explorer dagegen das meistverkaufte SUV. Die sechste Generation soll es jetzt erneut in Europa versuchen: mit Plug-in-Hybrid, Allrad und umfangreicher Ausstattung. Der Plug-in-Hybrid wird die einzige verfügbare Antriebsoption sein: Hier ist ein drei Liter großer V6-Ecoboost-Benziner an einen Elektromotor gekoppelt.
