Mitte der 2010er hat Volvo sich renoviert. Zum Masterplan gehörte neben dem XC90 auch die Wiederbelebung von S90 und V90. Zu den Zutaten gehörten unter anderem ein deutlich größerer Grill, aggressivere Scheinwerfer und bei beiden Versionen ein dezent angeschrägtes Heck. Und neuste Technik. Mit dem V90 führte Volvo im Sommer 2016 teilautonomes Fahren ein. Der damals vorgestellte Pilot Assist hält bis 130 km/h die Spur. Er folgt dabei den weißen Linien links und rechts der Fahrbahn. Ab 2017 dann auch durch den robusten V90 Cross Country ergänzt.
