Nach dem Erfolg der ersten Generation brachte Mercedes-Benz 2011 eine neue B-Klasse auf den Markt. Im Gegensatz zum Vorgänger ist die neuste Version deutlich dynamischer gestaltet und soll so auch eine jüngere Klientel ansprechen. Das Konzept ist dagegen gleich geblieben: Bei kompakten Außenabmessungen bietet die B-Klasse viel Platz im Innenraum. Die Hauptkonkurrenten des kompakten Stuttgarter Vans heißen Ford C-Max und VW Touran. Die Motorenpalette umfasst bei den Benzinern ein Leistungsspektrum von 122 bis 211 PS, bei den Selbstzündern von 90 bis 170 PS. Auf dem Pariser Autosalon 2014 stellte Mercedes eine überarbeitete B-Klasse vor. Wichtigste Neuerungen sind eine geänderte Front- und Heckpartie, ein größeres Display im Innenraum sowie diverse Assistenz- und Sicherheitssystemen.
