Die zweite Generation des Kia Picanto erschien 2011 auf dem deutschen Markt. Den Picanto gibt es als drei- und fünftürige Limousine. Der Look setzt auf Sport, keine Spur mehr vom Kulleraugengesicht des Vorgängers. Wichtige Konkurrenten des kleinen Koreaners Fiat 500, Ford Ka, Renault Twingo und Toyota iQ. Seine Premiere feierte der neue Kia Picanto auf dem Genfer Salon 2011. Genau vier Jahre später präsentiert Kia auf der Messe das Facelift des Picanto. Wichtigste Neuerungen sind neben geänderten Stoßfängern ein überarbeiteter Kühlergrill sowie neue Materialien im Innenraum und ein modernisiertes Infotainmentsystem.
